Acme Wire Products hosted a service awards luncheon November 14, 2013 at Go Fish Restaurant in Mystic, CT to recognize employees with 10 or more years of service to the company. Forty percent of the employees were in attendance and those present represented all departments of the company. The total years of service represented was 298 years.
Special recognitions were presented to Benito Gallo (10 years of service), Roswell Bishop (15 years of service) and Eugene Callahan (15 years of service).
Employees entertained and inspired each other with stories of the company during it’s earlier days, memories of their first days at Acme Wire Products and experiences with former and current co-workers. It was noted that the average tenure for an Acme Wire Products’ employee is over 10 years and that the total years of tooling and engineering experience in Acme Wire Products’ toolroom and design department is over 100 years.
Several attendees mentioned that the investments made by Acme Wire Products in automation and robotics have changed the way that they perform their jobs as well as improving the throughput and lead time. The 401K plan with 100% company match, was also mentioned as an important employee benefit.
In addition to the reminiscences, attendees were encouraged to suggest further improvements. Michael Planeta, VP Manufacturing, reinforced that the dedication and innovations of the employees of Acme Wire Products contribute greatly to the success of the company.
